A traditional Mariñana house from this area of Les Mariñes de Villaviciosa, completely renovated on a one-hectare estate on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea, in the Cider Region. A family project started in 1986 in which the four members of the family, Daniela, Severino, Gaël and Illán, remain linked, with the multifunctionality acquired through living in rural areas, from livestock activities with endangered native breeds and ecological commitments, to the craftsmanship of ceramics and Xalda sheep wool, or the entertainment activities that were implemented in the offer of the Ca l'Asturcón Ecomuseum from 2000 onwards. This conversion into an ecomuseum space first resulted in the Casa de Aldea La Quintana de la Foncalada being awarded the Diploma of Excellence and Tourism Quality of the Principality of Asturias in 2001, a pioneer in launching rural tourism in Asturias, for the enhancement of cultural and ethnographic heritage. And since 2003, the Foncalada, integrated into the Ca l'Asturcón Ecomuseum, a conservatory of endangered native breeds, has become the center of eco-agritourism in Spain, offering new travelers the opportunity to integrate and share rural experiences centered on the recovery of peasant culture and organic production.
