  • Monitoring agile frog populations in Izarra (Urkabustaiz).
  • Bird censuses and monitoring in Urkabustaiz and Gorbeialdea in projects coordinated by the Aranzadi Science Society and SEO/Birdlife.

Sustainable tourism

At Equinoccio Natura, we are fully aware of the need to care for the environment and respect our surroundings. Therefore, we take all possible measures to help reduce the impact of our activities on our surroundings and its biodiversity:

  • We design routes and activities to minimize the impact on fragile ecosystems.
  • We avoid sensitive areas, critical habitats, and disturbances to endangered species.
  • We provide our customers with information about the importance of protecting the environment.
  • We foster respect for nature and promote sustainable practices:
    • Do not litter, and leave the area cleaner than it was.
    • Never throw cigarette butts.
    • Rules of conduct in a protected area.
    • Do not leave the trails.
  • Do not make loud noises.
  • Do not disturb or approach wild or domestic animals.
  • We promote the conservation of biodiversity:
    • We inform our clients about the importance of conserving local flora and fauna and how they can contribute.
    • We highlight the threats facing species and how you can help protect them.
    • We promote participation in conservation projects and collaborate on these projects.

We know that sustainable tourism can contribute to the development of our region, and that's why we encourage all our guests to join this commitment by respecting our natural environment, making responsible use of resources, purchasing local products, and visiting artisans and traditional producers.
