After breakfast, the company Mycology for All picks up guests from the La Casa del Patrón hotel. Guided by a professional mycology guide, you'll not only learn to identify edible and toxic species, but also discover the secrets of their habitat and their importance in the ecosystem. Our specialized guide will teach you proper harvesting techniques and provide invaluable information about the region's mycological diversity.
Back at the hotel, you'll enjoy a meal made with seasonal mushrooms as a main course and/or side dish.
After lunch, each day there will be an explanatory workshop, examining the collected specimens lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Mycology for All:
During the activity:
Attendees will be informed about the importance of mushrooms
in nature and various issues relevant to its identification and
understanding.
Any relevant data on the species found will be noted, creating a
exsicata, which will be preserved in a myco-herbarium made available to the scientific community. The name of the assistant who found the species will be included as a "collector." The local mycological association "Gorbeiako Bazterra" and the "Iberian Mycological Society" will be notified, as well as any other authorities that may have an interest in the matter. If necessary, a scientific publication supported by renowned mycologists will be created.
At Mycology for All, we believe that the first step to conserving nature is to understand it. Therefore, our approach is based on understanding species, their identification, ecological importance, and uses. This way, we value the fungal kingdom and protect it, along with its ecosystem.

Mycology for Everyone: Travel within the natural parks to prepare for activities is preferably done by electric bicycle, which is charged by solar panels installed in a mobile laboratory. In addition to reducing carbon footprint and pollution compared to using 4x4s, the experience of other natural park users is improved by avoiding the presence of combustion-engine vehicles, which can be so uncomfortable when trying to breathe fresh air.
Customer service is provided at the trackside in a mobile laboratory equipped with everything needed for the identification of mycological species:
microscope, identification material, tables, chairs, reference books, sink…
This mobile laboratory is set up according to the needs of the activity and taking into account the real-time visitor congestion. It features solar panels and an awning for protection from the elements.
This also contributes to reducing overcrowding in these areas, allowing the public to be served on any accessible road where parking is permitted.
We actively collaborate with public and private entities and the media to promote mycology as a precursor to mycotourism.
