The smell of freshly cut grass, the sound of a flowering meadow. Something simply unforgettable. Surrounded by meadows with murias and cows grazing near cliffs, the
“Les Mariñes” meadows, a typical landscape near the Villaviciosa estuary.

Close your eyes and imagine... green meadows, stone walls, cliffs, hidden animals. It's just a matter of opening them, something that seems easy, but not all of us are capable of contemplating beauty... Do you want us to help you change the way you see?

At the Naturalist's House, we'll learn about the mechanisms of nature, those seemingly forgotten but underlying all things. Stop to observe the wild, that unnoticed spider, or that solitary bee working unwittingly to secure a seed plant.

Our goal: to guide people to understand and reflect on the relationship that all living beings on the planet have.

The experience in detail

Activities

We offer a two-night stay in a double room with a bathroom, with a delicious house breakfast. We also offer two two-hour workshops spread over the two days at the visitor's convenience.
Organic garden workshop (2 hours)
A tour of the soil brings us closer to the fascinating world of decomposers, the great unknown and sometimes so unfairly treated. We'll learn about their important mission, look closely, and try to observe them with respect and compassion.
Workshop Investigating the Soil (2 hours)
It will deal in a general way with the main aspects of organic farming: A vegetable garden in harmony with nature, plant cycles, soil structure, auxiliary fauna and flora, “Together but not mixed” (crop association and rotation), “Objective, not to work the soil” (tillage, sowing and planting).
The workshop will be as practical as possible depending on the time and interests of the participants.

Ecotourism Commitment

The Casa del Naturalista was founded in 1996 with the idea of offering something more than a simple accommodation in a rural setting. From the beginning, our The goal was to live off what the place offered us and, above all, to live in the place where we carry out the activity.
The Naturalist House is not just accommodation, it is a way of understand life, where environmental education, organic farming and own accommodation are an indivisible whole.
The "El Busgosu" Nature Classroom is a very important part of the Casa del Naturalista's design. Environmental education is primarily focused on children. We receive visits from school groups from September to June.
Our garden was created with the aim of producing organic produce for sale, and is registered with the COPAE (Spanish Agricultural Association of Agricultural Producers). Over time, it has transformed from a mere agricultural operation to a recreational garden focused primarily on the sensory enjoyment of visitors. Currently, the garden is the source of seasonal vegetables, both for the family's own consumption and for those staying at the house.
Nature conservation is becoming more and more difficult, from the house of the At Naturalista, we inform all guests about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling trash, making waste sorting easier at all times. We also encourage energy savings with low-consumption lights and sensors.presence of res.
We recommend nearby places to visit, routes, local guides and consumption of local products, providing information on the restaurants and shops where can taste or purchase.
