Mariñas Coruñesas and Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve

Weather permitting, guests will enjoy the night sky, where they will learn a multitude of interesting facts about the universe and its constituent elements. In simple language, visitors will learn the legends that the elements of the universe have left in our surroundings. To round off the evening, we will receive a visit from Meigamoura, who will delight us with a queimada (a traditional ritual) with her incantation for cleansing body and soul.

Participants will learn to understand the universe and its effects on our planet in simple and engaging language.

Description

This workshop will not only teach about the universe but will also raise awareness about the importance of clean, clear skies and healthy, sustainable, and environmentally friendly lighting. Pets are welcome.

Attire: Comfortable shoes, waterproof boots. Long pants, coat. Pets are welcome.

Additional Information:

We are located in the Mariñas Coruñesas e Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve, in the municipality of Cambre, in the parish of San Salvador de Cecebre. As a continuation of Bosque Animado is the Os Biosbardos farm, an organic farming project based on the principles of Permaculture:

PERMANENT AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE that promotes the conscious design of environments that reproduce the patterns of nature.

CARING FOR THE LAND AND PEOPLE. FOLLOW THE SYNTHROPIC AGRICULTURE MODEL, which is the creation of forest-inspired agroforestry ecosystems for the purpose of producing food and conserving nature (food forests).

LOCAL RELATIONSHIP. As Mariñas region and its area of influence.

ARTISAN PRODUCTION. We are producers with a low level of mechanization.

DIRECT CHANNEL. This represents a short marketing channel between the producer and the recipients of the product.

ENJOY BIODIVERSITY. Productions are evaluated based on awareness and interest in conserving biodiversity.

YOU GAIN TRANSPARENCY. At all times, you are aware of the origin of the product and the conditions under which it was grown.

FAIR CONSUME. Prices are estimated to reflect fair treatment for both the buyer and the producer.

YOU PROMOTE FOOD SOVEREIGNTY. Our food comes from organic farming, considered a way of life, not an economic niche.

YOU SAVOR THE TRADITIONAL. We focus on local varieties and agroecological knowledge over hybrid varieties and modern mechanization systems.
